Rocket’s right-hand gauge is printed as pump pressure and as service-boiler pressure

Rocket Espresso’s English instruction manual examined here (InDesign/PDF dated 31 March 2019) assigns the right-hand gauge three incompatible kinds of claim in one file — “on all machines” pump pressure; a mains-install blind-filter check that calls the right-hand gauge pump pressure at 9 bar for Evoluzione R, R 58 and R 60V; and a Gauge Operations exception that on R 58 and R 60V the right-hand gauge indicates service-boiler pressure — while the same R 60V operation section names a “pump pressure manometer,” and service-boiler pressure is elsewhere a 0.8–1.3 bar window against a 9 bar pump figure.

Rocket Espresso’s multi-model English instruction manual tells the reader what the two front gauges mean. On the file examined here, the right-hand gauge does not settle on one answer. One passage says that on all machines it indicates pump pressure. A mains-connection procedure that names Evoluzione R, R 58 and R 60V says the same thing and attaches a 9 bar blind-filter check to that right-hand reading. The Gauge Operations page then adds an exception: on the R 58 and R 60V, the right-hand gauge indicates service boiler pressure. Elsewhere in the same PDF, service-boiler pressure is a 0.8–1.3 bar setpoint window, and the R 60V operation section still talks about a pump pressure manometer.
That is the article: a manufacturer diagnostic identity conflict for one instrument position. It is not a repair guide, not a ranking of R 58 against Mozzafiato, and not a re-run of this site’s separate Rocket service-boiler °C/bar locus article.

The shared machine description names both gauges
The common machine-description pages label:

Item (17) notes a braided hose for R 58, R 60V and Evoluzione R models only, so the shared callout list is the manual’s own packaging for those dual-boiler and Evoluzione machines as well as the heat-exchanger range. The description does not, on those pages, rename callout (15) when the model is R 58 or R 60V.

The first and third bullets sit next to each other under GAUGE OPERATIONS. The file does not mark either as obsolete, does not say the exception supersedes the “all machines” line, and does not explain how one right-hand instrument is both a 9 bar pump check and a service boiler reading.
The illustration under those bullets is captioned Mozzafiato Evoluzione R — an Evoluzione heat-exchanger model, not an R 58 / R 60V dual boiler. The dual-boiler exception is therefore printed beside a non-dual-boiler photograph.
Why the two right-hand claims cannot be the same diagnostic
Elsewhere in the same PDF, the R 58 / R 60V programming section lets the user set service boiler pressure between 0.8 and 1.3 bar, with a factory service-boiler temperature of 123°C. The mains-install blind-filter check wants pump pressure at 9 bar. Those are different physical ranges and different named systems. Treating an idle ~1 bar steam-side reading as a failed 9 bar pump check — or the reverse — is not something the manual examined here authorises once both sentences are kept in view.
A third naming attachment appears in machine operation for the R 60V only: when extraction starts, “the green light on the pump pressure manometer will be on,” and it flashes when the pressure profile finishes. That sentence keeps a pump pressure manometer in the R 60V vocabulary even after Gauge Operations reassigns the right-hand gauge on R 58 / R 60V to service-boiler pressure. The pages examined here do not state whether that manometer is a separate instrument from the right-hand gauge labeled (L).
What this is not
This reconciliation is about which quantity the OEM attaches to the right-hand gauge. It is not the site’s Synesso article, where one brew gauge is given different normal bands under different operating conditions (line / brew / expansion). It is not the site’s Rocket / Profitec / Makina steam-boiler °C-and-bar locus article, which uses Rocket’s 0.8–1.3 bar service-boiler setpoint window against saturation, not gauge-identity wording. Adjustment steps for the under-machine pump screw are present in the install section and are not reproduced here as instructions.
What can and cannot be concluded
Established here. On the Rocket English instruction manual examined here (PDF metadata 31 March 2019), Gauge Operations says the right gauge is pump pressure on all machines and, in the next bullet, service-boiler pressure on R 58 and R 60V. The Evoluzione R / R 58 / R 60V mains-install procedure calls the right-hand gauge pump pressure and attaches a 9 bar blind-filter check. The shared machine description still names a pump pressure gauge as callout (15) while listing R 58 / R 60V among braided-hose models. Service-boiler pressure is elsewhere a 0.8–1.3 bar window. The R 60V operation section names a pump pressure manometer with a green profile light.
Not established here. That every Rocket dual boiler is wired so the right dial is “really” steam or “really” pump; that the Gauge Operations exception is a typographical error (or that the “all machines” line is); that a ~1 bar idle reading equals brew pressure at the puck; or that the under-machine bypass adjustment wording is being endorsed here as a how-to. Those claims are outside the reconciliation examined here.
What was not checked
Only this multi-model English PDF examined here is used for the gauge-identity claims above. Other Rocket language editions, later revisions, and unpublished service drawings were not checked here. No measurement in this article reads either gauge. The finding is the manufacturer’s own incompatible attachments to the right-hand instrument, and the separation of that identity conflict from the service-boiler setpoint window already treated elsewhere.
